A Trans-Siberian Odyssey - 2 September 2008 (18 days)
Tour Date: 2 September 2008
Tour Cost ($AUD): $7997
This Trans Siberian Odyssey is for those who do not have enough time to complete our normal 'Beyond the Trans-Siberian' tour. It runs during the Russian autumn which is one of the most popular times to go. The colours of the Siberian forests are simply stunning. Many people also prefer the cooler climate and another plus is that there are fewer tourists on the route at this time of year. The tour follows our normal route from Beijing but terminates in Moscow, rather than Helsinki.

Arriving at Erlian, the Chinese/Mongolian border town, giant hydraulic lifts raise the train and the wheel bogies are changed. The Chinese railway operates on a narrower gauge to that of Mongolia and Russia, hence the need for this operation.
