South America is the world’s most exciting continent and Travel Directors’ runs two small-group escorted tours here, plus another to near neighbours, Cuba and Mexico. ‘Essential South America’ features the highlights of Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia. In Brazil we visit stunning Rio De Janeiro and see famous sights such as Sugarloaf Mountain, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado and the great beaches of Copocobana and Ipanema. In Peru we tour the capital, Lima, before heading to Iquitos and exploring the Amazon jungle. We stay at the Explorama lodge on the a tributary of the Amazon river. In Peru we start in the ancient Inca capital, Cusco, then visit the Sacred valley of the Incas and the famous lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. In Bolivia we cross Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake, before touring the capital, La Paz. Finally we enter Argentina and stay in its lovely capital, Buenos Aires. Our last stop is Iguassu, the world’s largest and most spectacular waterfall. We enjoy a thrilling jet boat ride into the very heart of the Iguassu falls. Travel Directors’ ‘Galapagos to Patagonia’ starts witha cruise around the magnificent Galapagos Islands. We then visit the capital of Ecuador, Quito before heading to Bolivia and crossing the Atacama desert and the great salt lakes. We enter Chile and visit the capital, Santiago, before moving on to Puerto Montt in Patagonia. Crossing the border into Argentina we head to Bariloche and the beautiful lake district. We then visit the stunning Perito Moreno glacier before our final stop in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires. ‘Cuba and Mexico’ features a complete tour of Cuba with stops in Havana, Trinidad, Santa Clara and and Santiago de Cuba. In Mexico we visit the Yucatan peninsula then San Cristobal and Palenque before our final stop in the world’s largest capital, Mexico City. |
