North Korea

The little-visited and isolated nation of North Korea is featured in two Travel Directors small group escorted tours. The first begins with a flight from Australia to Beijing. There is a full sightseeing tour in the Chinese capital, including a trip to the Great Wall of China. We then board the K27 Express and begin our rail journey to the ‘Hermit Kingdom’ of North Korea.

We arrive in the capital, Pyongyang, from where we drive out to beautiful Myohyang and visit the amazing International Friendship Exhibition. We also visit the famous American spy ship, the USS Pueblo, which was captured in 1968. A major highlight of the North Korean tour is a trip to the 38th Parallel, the most heavily militarised border in the world.

North Korea is also featured in Travel Directors’ ‘Remote Wonderlands tour’, which features an epic train ride from Beijing through China, North Korea, Siberia and Mongolia. The ‘Remote Wonderlands’ tour is timed to coincide with the spectacular Mass games in North Korea.
