Motorcycle Tours

Travel Directors now runs small group escorted motor cycle tours to extraordinary parts of the world. ‘Ride on the Roof of the World’ takes bikies to China, Tibet and Nepal. Starting in the Chinese capital, Beijing, we board the Himalayan Express for a trip on the world’s highest railway up to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. After viewing great sights such as the Potala Palace, the Summer Palace and Sera Monastery we collect our bikes, 500cc Royal Enfield ‘Bullets’, and start our ride across the Himalayan Plateau. En route we stop in the ancient cities of Gyangtse and Shigatse but the highlight is the day we ride to Mt Everest base camp on the stunning north side.

We end our ride in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Our second tour is from Siberia, through Mongolia to China. We begin on the shores of Lake Baikal and ride our motorcycles south through Siberia and the Gobi desert to the capital of Mongolia, Ulaan Baatar. From there we continue riding south into China and enter the capital, Beijing. Then of our tour is a triumphal ride into Tiananmen Square, the world’s biggest pedestrian plaza.
